Fuller/Calais/Me.", "Elbridge Gerry/Waterford/Maine", "John Otis/Hallowell/Maine" and "R.K. Goodenow/Paris/Maine", 6¼x7½. THOMAS JAMES DUNCAN FULLER (1808-1876), a Democrat, represented Maine in the US House of Representatives (1849-1857), chairing the Committee on Commerce in 1851. He was Second Auditor of the Treasury under President Buchanan (1857-1861). He pleaded cases before the US Supreme Court. JOHN OTIS (1801-1856), a Whig, served in the Maine legislature before representing that state in the US Congress (1849-1851). He was a member of the Northeastern Boundary Commission (1842), tasked with defining the border of Maine and Canada. ELBRIDGE THOMAS GERRY (1813-1886), the grandson of US Vice President Elbridge Gerry, was elected to a single term in the US Congress in 1848, as a Democrat representing Maine. RUFUS KING GOODENOW (1790-1863), a captain in the 33rd US Infantry Regiment during the War o 1812, was Clerk of the Oxford County Courts (1821-1827) before serving one term in the Maine House of Representatives (1849-1851).
